OpCapita is the successor to Merchant Equity Partners, which was founded in 2006 to invest in European retail, consumer and leisure businesses. We have a partnership structure and attract exceptionally talented people with the operational and financial know-how to effect transformational change at the companies in which we invest.

The nature of what we do means that we do not invest with short term time horizons. We look for companies where there are opportunities to bring operational change, and we address every aspect of performance. We conduct meticulous research and due diligence on individual acquisition opportunities before we invest.

Our funding base allows us to take a more strategic view of an opportunity by looking beyond 'the deal' to focus on the company's medium to long term development potential.
