Frank joined OpCapita as an Operating Partner in September 2019 and will be a member of OpCapita's Investment Committee. He has extensive experience in turnaround and growth situations in the retail, consumer and B2B sectors.
Prior to joining OpCapita, Frank was the CEO of French furniture and electricals retailer BUT, which was owned by OpCapita, Goldman Sachs and Colony Capital. Under his leadership, the company improved its market position and gained share, more than doubled profitability and developed into a structurally negative working capital player, ultimately enabling a successful sale to a strategic and financial buyer.
In 2006, Frank started the operations team of Sun European Partners and served as an Operating Partner until 2013. He was responsible for a highly diversified portfolio of 16 companies in multiple geographies and sectors, both in turnaround and growth situations.
Beginning his career in various roles at BMW and ThyssenKrupp, Frank also served as CEO of the French subsidiary of Huennebeck and executed a major turnaround during his tenure. He later became CEO of Huennebeck Group, which culminated in realising a 9.7x return for the seller.
Frank has a PhD in Economics from University of Göttingen and is fluent in English, French and German.
