OpCapita appoints Chief Financial Officer and Head of Compliance
OpCapita LLP, the European private equity firm, today announces the appointment of Simon Millerchip as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Compliance.
Simon's return to OpCapita marks the continuation of a working relationship established in 2008, when he spent two years as Chief Financial Officer, Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer of the firm, working closely with Chief Executive Henry Jackson.

Simon joins OpCapita after five years with Man Capital LLP, where he oversaw the establishment, development and ongoing operation of their PE structures, including a period as interim Chief Financial Officer of one of its portfolio entities. Prior to joining OpCapita in 2008, Simon spent seven years at Blackstone, where he was most recently a Vice President and Compliance Officer.

Simon is the latest addition to OpCapita's growing team, which over the last twelve months has increased from eight to thirteen members, with the most recent appointment being Caroline Crowley to the newly created role of Director of Investor Relations, in May. Simon's appointment also comes following the closing of OpCapita's first dedicated fund, OpCapita Consumer Opportunities Fund LP, at the end of 2014. The Fund has so far made two investments: NKD, the German discount clothing retailer, in March 2014; and la Sirena Alimentación Congelada, the leading frozen food retailer in Spain, in December 2014. OpCapita has recently signed the lease on a new, larger office space in Mayfair. The refit has begun and the firm plans to move to its new premises in August.
In joining OpCapita, Simon's focus will be on further enhancing the infrastructure and institutional framework to support the commercial drive of the business, to ensure the delivery of sustainable shareholder returns.

Henry Jackson, Chief Executive of OpCapita, commented:
"It is a great pleasure to welcome Simon back to the OpCapita team and to be working with him again. This is an exciting time for OpCapita as we continue to grow the business and expand the breadth and depth of our skills. Simon's extensive industry experience will prove invaluable as we seek further opportunities across the European consumer, retail and leisure sectors and raise further private equity funds, with the ultimate goal of creating long-term, sustainable value for our investors."

Simon Millerchip, Chief Financial Officer and Head of Compliance, said:
"I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with Henry and the OpCapita team again at a truly exciting and dynamic time for the business. I hope to be able to use my knowledge and experience to support the firm as it goes from strength to strength, in an ever-evolving market."
